News at a Glance:

- The government extends the ban on commercial flights for travel abroad till 31st Oct and will allow international flights only under the ‘Air Travel Bubble Arrangement’. In addition to the existing countries, India has now established new air bubble arrangements with Japan, Iraq, Nigeria and Bahrain
- Lufthansa has been forced to cancel all flights between Germany and India from 30th September until 20th October 2020 due to the Indian Government’s rejection of the extension of these flights
- The Pune airport runway will be closed from 8pm to 8am for maintenance work starting from 26th Oct onwards for approximately one year. As a result, only day flights will be operational during this period. At present there are 26 night flights operating from Pune airport in the night which will be rescheduled as day flights

- Indigo flight numbers 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 and all domestic flights of GoAir will operate from Terminal 2 in Delhi from 1st October 2020

Virgin Atlantic adds Delhi London route from 4th October

Virgin has announced four times a week service between Delhi and London Heathrow commencing 4th October complementing the four times a week service between Mumbai and London Heathrow. The updated schedule between Mumbai / Delhi and London is as follows:

SpiceJet to start flights to London from 4 December
|
|
|
|
Spicejet has announced its service to London from Mumbai and Delhi starting from 4th December. The airline will operate two weekly flights between Delhi and London and one weekly flight between Mumbai and London on an Airbus A330 aircraft, which it recently took on a wet lease for long-haul international operations.
The flights to London will operate under the India-UK air bubble agreement with the following schedule:

Indigo introduces Double Seat Service
|
|
|
|
Indigo has introduced 6E Double Seat service which will provide a stress free flying experience to passengers as they can now book two seats for one person.
In addition, passengers using this service will be offered 10Kg additional baggage allowance and an option to check in two pieces of baggage without any extra charges.

Go Air introducing Fare Lock. Secure your booking now, pay later
|
|
|
Go Air has introduced a ‘Fare Lock’ product that gives travellers the opportunity to lock a selected fare at a nominal fee. This is to ensure that the selected flight(s) won't sell out and the price will not go up while you make your decision.
|
|
Terms for Fare Lock on flights within India:
- Fare will be held for up to 15 days from the booking date / time
- Offered 9 days prior to flight departure, for example:
- If the date of booking is 9 days prior to the date of travel, then the Fare Lock Period will be “2” days from the date of booking
- If the date of booking is 12 days prior to the date of travel, then the Fare Lock Period will be “5” days from the date of booking
- If the date of booking is 22 days prior to the date of travel, then Fare Lock Period will be “15” days from the date of booking
- Rs.200 per passenger per sector will be applicable as Fare Lock fee, which will be over and above the ticket cost

- Fare will be held for 48 hours from the booking date / time
- Offered 9 days prior to flight departure
- Rs.300 per passenger per sector will be applicable as Fare Lock fee, which will be over and above the ticket cost

Domestic airlines revert to pre-Covid baggage allowance
|
|
|
As part of ‘Unlock 5.0’, domestic airlines have been allowed to revert to their pre-covid check in baggage allowance. Indigo and SpiceJet have amended their check in baggage allowance to 15 kgs (one piece) and 7 kgs for cabin baggage for travel after 1st Oct ‘20.
