Day 1 Arrive Alwar
On arrival in Alwar, check in at the hotel arranged for you for a stay of 2 nights

Alwar has been among the historic cities in Rajasthan. It is surrounded by prehistoric as well as historic sites that are an archaeologist's delight. Once a part of the Matsya kingdom, a visit to Alwar is like walking back into the past. This area is protected from the desert sands by the Aravalli range that also provides Alwar with a lot of picturesque locations. The entire region is rich in lakes and wooded hills that provide shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna. Today, Alwar is an important industrial centre and one of Delhi 's satellite towns yet its ancient temples, medieval forts and palaces, gardens and wildlife make it and interesting tourist destination.

In the afternoon visit some of the important sights of Alwar - Bala Qila where Emperor Babur spent one night ,the majestic City Palace which houses a museum can be found quite a few of Alwar's legendary treasures - rare manuscripts, paintings, objects made from jade, ivory and silver and a large collection of weapons.

Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel in Alwar.

Day 2 In Alwar

Today visit some of the monuments of Alwar to include the Vinay Vilas Palace, Vijay Mandir Palace and Moti Doongri.

Day 3 Alwar – Jaipur ( approx 150 kms )

Check out of the hotel after breakfast. Drive down to the pink City of Jaipur

The historic Pink City of Jaipur is an absolute must on the itinerary of any visitor to India. Together with Delhi and Agra, it is known as India's "Golden Triangle of Tourism." Jaipur – the capital of Rajasthan is a picturesque city, a symphony in pin that symbolizes hospitality in Rajput culture. Jaipur is surrounded on all sides by rugged hills crowned with forts & enclosed by embattled walls. Houses with latticed windows line the streets with their rose pink colour, lending enchantment to the scene, which is almost magical at sunset.

Evening will be at leisure for you to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 4 In Jaipur

This morning enjoy an excursion to Amber Fort, o ne of the finest examples of Rajput architecture, situated on a hillside that overlooks a lake which reflects the fort's ramparts and terraces. Make your ascent to the palace fortress on the gaily-caparisoned elephant back. Tour the chamber & hallways of the palace, which are famous for the excellence of their design & decoration.

Visit the City Palace , & its museum, which houses a rare combination of the finest blends of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture with a collection of Royal costumes, armoury with arms & old paintings. Some of the other places worth visiting are the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, Jantar Mantar, one of the five observatories constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh, and the Birla Mandir, which is a replica of a Scottish castle, and is one of the most revered Hindu temples, dedicated to Shri Lakshmi-Narayan.

Day 5 Jaipur – Mount Abu Rd (by train)

Early morning board Dli Adi Mail to Mount Abu . (Departure Jaipur -0435 hrs: Arrival Abu Road 1250 hrs, daily train). On arrival at the railway station, transfer to the hotel booked for you for a stay of 1 night.

Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, offers you the best of all possible worlds, with more scenic beauty, more architecture and archaeology in the form of the famous Dilwara Caves, the chief center for the Brahmakumaris and a generous peppering of temples which shows that the place is exceptionally favored by the gods. Abu has been an important place of penance for the sages.

Later this afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mount Abu including the Dilwara Caves and the famous Jain Temples . Abu's highest peak, Guru Shikhar, is also worth a visit. There is certain serenity about the temple built atop this peak.

The Dilwara Jain temples were built between the 11th and 13th century. The marble to build these was brought all the way from Makrana and the best workmen and craftsmen were employed to ensure the finest quality of sculpture. Intricate carvings decorate each portion of these temples, which are dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras. Millions of rupees were spent on the carvings, architecture and décor of the temples and the workmen were rewarded in silver and gold equivalent to the amount of marble brought in.

Visit the Nakki Lake , where you could hire boats. (Curios in marble, sandalwood and sandstone can be bought from the shops around Nakki Lake . Kota saris, bangles and linen with Sanganeri prints are also available.)

Day 6 Mount Abu – Udaipur (approx 185 kms)

This morning after breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Udaipur

The city of Udaipur is a lovely city located around the azure water lake, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravallis. A vision in white drenched in romance and beauty, Udaipur is a fascinating blend of sights, sound and experiences and inspiration for the imagination of poets, painters and writers. Its kaleidoscope of fairy-tale palaces, lakes, temples, gardens and narrow lanes strewn with stalls carry the flavor of a heroic past, epitomizing valour and chivalry. Udiapur is the jewel of Mewar-a kingdom ruled by the Sisodia dynasty for 1200 Years.

On arrival in Udaipur , check into the hotel booked for you. Later depart for a city tour of Udaipur , the City of lakes . Visit the City Palace Museum which is made of granite and marble with filigree balconies, ornate windows and craftsmanship on glass. Then visit the Jagdish Temple , which is dedicated to God Vishnu and was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651.

Drive around Fatehsagar Lake , which is the Fairy tale lake of Udaipur , Sahelion - ki - Bari , a garden with fountains once used for the enjoyment of royal ladies and the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir, a folk art museum. Evening at leisure.

Day 7 Udaipur – Ranakpur – Kumbalgarh - Udaipur

After breakfast, proceed on a day trip to Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh. This 15th Century Jain Temple is located 90 Kms. from Udaipur . The temples in Ranakpur are quite unique in style and design. . The trip alone is very interesting and picturesque, and the temples themselves are absolutely spectacular.

Also visit the Kumbalgarh Fort
After the Fort of Chittaurgarh, this is second most important fort in Mewar region. The 15th Century bastion built by Maharana Kumbha stands at 1100 Mts. atop of Aravalis commanding a strategic position on the border beween the Rajput Kingdom of Mewar and Marwar. The Wall of Fort is the longest after Wall of China , at a time half a Dozen Horses can march on it. There are about 300 small Temples in Complex. View from the Badal Mahal ( Palace of Clouds ) is stunning.

Day 8 Udaipur – Back Home

Morning free for some last minute shopping. In the evening transfer to the railway station to board your flight back home.
